We can lead by modeling behavior. We can lead by guiding our people. AND we can lead by throwing lines of rope to help others rise. Sometimes the best way to lead is to give a hand up, not a hand out. It happens more than you think in circles of privilege – we are so blind by our own bias sometimes we just won’t admit it.
There is never just one right way to lead. Just as there are plenty of bad ways, including looking out only for your own interests, and operating from a place of fear.
