Sometimes we need an excuse to open a new door in our lives. We don’t always know why we need to find the way out, so we may paint a picture that looks good or write a story in our heads that sounds good and we eventually share it in order to find and open the next door. But we may not have clear direction. Is it to bring value or to feel valued?
I am seeing a pattern of behavior that fits right into the Jungian Archetypes. And sure enough, those who are willing to let arrogance go to become more self aware, can and do find more intentional living. And maybe they even realize that feeling valued is more of a short-sighted proposition. Humans need assurance that what they do matters, but looking too hard at every turn may be futile.
Right now I suppose I’m somewhere in the category of wanting to provide adaptive structure to the world, while connecting more deeply with others. In other words, I want most to bring value by breaking rules and probably creating frenemies, but I need to feel valued by those I care about, too. I just don’t care what everyone thinks as much any more. But I do care nonetheless.
My way of clinging to opportunities has always been relational. I do this with a clear aim at helping others to navigate the chaos by exercising what I think of as leadership. The kind where you would fall on your sword for your king or queen, because the purpose is that meaningful, impactful, and better for society. And above all, with kind intentions.
But my focus is not just about kings and queens or C-level’s. The reason Leadership Development organizations focus so much on these C-level folks is that they have budgets and ultimate ability to wave their swords and make sweeping change.
I believe everyone is a leader. They just need to own it. Change can happen with influencers everywhere in an organization. You need to prove to be one by practicing what you preach to influence change. And encourage others to do the same.
Your mission to achieve Superhumanness: Believe you are a leader. Own it. Practice what you preach. And for heaven’s sake, stop being a dictator. You can influence change instead, by bringing others along with an inspiring and tangible vision. #believeyouarealeader #ownit #leadership #encourageothers #practicewhatyoupreach #armorup
Be kind along the journey and remember, you got this.
