Impact

I just wrapped up a fantastic project for a global company focused on, in my own words, product innovation for humanity. Their mission doesn’t say anything close to that.

As I sat through a full day of presentation rehearsals, I balanced my time between really listening to each speaker’s story, and carefully analyzing the cinematic slide design for details we needed to fix, including their pacing.

have to say, I was once again blown away by the CEO. On the one hand, he’s a normal, down to earth guy. And then, he starts to talk about something with such focus and intent. He can be so specific and yet so inspirational and broadly visionary. I not only feel that he has incredible energy and drive, I feel that he will continue to do amazing things on this planet. And the impact will be bigger than anyone imagined.

He is in some ways the front man of a partnership, yet in others, he’s the human soul of the organization. And he does the people part of their work, so that partners get to do what they love doing (which might entail product development, engineering and creativity).

I’ve always admired him and what he does, and now I have to say I feel a stronger sense of connection – like our paths were meant to cross, even if only to nudge me to continue to believe in what we do. And so, it does give me hope. That this Fortune 500 company cares about more than bottom line. That they measure success in impact and people’s lives. That they are 100% public and corporate, and yet 100% defining success in human terms.
