Value comes in all shapes and sizes. In our society, we predominantly measure value in monetary worth. Value is represented in figures. It’s the datapoint used when buying a car, borrowing money for a home or student loan and paying taxes.
So what if we now have an economy that is driven by Artificial Intelligence, where people are paid a Universal Basic Income in order for robotics to more efficiently do our jobs?
I wonder if the lesser important arts, sciences and humanities will survive and thrive when people have more time? And where contribution is more heartful and expressive than say, Wall Street?
Your mission, if you choose to accept it: Remember that value is not measured only in numbers. Not everyone may see or value your craft in the same way, but it doesn’t make it less important even if it cannot be capitalized (creating profit), or it is not income. Its value is still very precious.
