After recently visiting the midwest, I can better understand how isolation might turn people against the other.
Coastal elites, diversity in the workforce, knowledge workers, they are less prevalent in the middle of the country.
And indeed, it’s human to find reasons to justify personal pain by blaming others.
Or a different experience is to look inward and ask “can I do more? What am I not seeing that’s a possibility in front of me?”
Your mission, if you choose to accept it: Do more, not less. Then ask “how can I do more?” instead of “What’s in it for me?”.
There are days when I can’t imagine doing more, but I know that this is my life. So what the hell else am I going to do? #CanIDoMore #DoMoreNotLess #HowCanIDoMore
