A few days before 2018, I got a text from someone close to me. Can I call you?
Of course, I replied. From that moment on, my world turned into a twister of ideas, emotions, star dust and rain drops.
We met a few days ago. I wasn’t excited about it. I told my daughter that morning that I had to confront my emotions head on and dig deep to find inner strength. So life isn’t easy, but we can learn from hardship and become resilient. (It can suck but I didn’t choose those words)! I shared a slice of my current journey with her so she can understand that when life gets us down, we can rally when we need to.
Later that day when looking at my friend across our dining room table, I told her what I felt. The chain reaction of her decision is difficult. The last thing I wanted to do in 2018 was to start off with more soul searching. But alas, this moment in time chose me, I didn’t choose it. So what the hell else can I do but focus on harnessing my inner compass, resilience and optimistic head voice to power on?
When someone is suffering, they need to sink into themselves and find an outlet, any outlet, back to a hopeful path. As a consequence, they can’t really empathize with the ripples they’ve created in the lives of others.
It’s amazing the power and impact that one human can have on the rest of us. We know this, we watch it every day in the news, yet we have a hard time believing that we can singularly have the same impact.
Well, we are wrong.
Your mission to achieve Superhumanness: Own your impact. See it. Understand it. Believe it. And turn it into a positive one.
Be kind along the journey and remember, you got this!
