Have you ever been in one of those situations where you get a judgmental sideways glance by everyone around you because you have stepped out of your gender role?
Why couldn’t a woman be into home improvement and building things? Why couldn’t a man like ballet dancing? Isn’t it hurtful when people assume you don’t know what you are about or judge your life choices because you are out of place? Why should it be seen as out of place to begin with? We all have biases, and changing those dynamics is up to each and every one of us.
Your mission, if you choose to accept it: Check your gender biases. Try not to judge something that feels out of place.
Be kind. Be safe. Be appropriate. Now go!
