How do you incorporate humor and laughing into your life? I know when I’m really bummed about something, I turn to comedy shows to escape. My spouse makes me laugh out loud, a lot. It helps when I am not always happy with him!
What about kindness? Do you feel appreciated? Do you give to others and show your appreciation? I believe that helping others can be a transformative way of making me feel better.
Whether you are bummed for a day or super down for what feels like a long period, find ways to use humor and kindness to get you out of your slump.
Your mission, if you choose to accept it: Combat depression with kindness AND humor. Give an extra big tip to your waitstaff. Hang out with your funny friends. Of course, there are probably more ways to consider working through your catatonic state. We recommend small acts of kindness to start. And hopefully those endorphins will kick in. Maybe exercise can help. Definitely large doses of humor. Read the funnies. Watch your favorite stand up comedians or comedy shows. Whatever it takes!
