I remember listening to NPR a while back about why some people can handle horror films (benign masochism or escapism) and others cannot. I’m not someone who is good with scary movies, and yet I’m pretty good at handling unpredictable risk in my life.
But the fear factor we’re hearing every day is not sustainable.
Now that the news plays and replays scenes from a horror film of sorts d a i l y, how will I make it through the next several months until the dust settles?
Your mission, if you choose to accept it: Find a group to process ways to cope with the anger and backlash from the recent election. Everyone was admittedly angry, some against the blues, and some against the reds. How can we all find ways to process through it, and take back our mental health?
