Everyone wants to be their best in front of a group. You may find that the best speakers are those who have figured out how to be themselves on stage. Confidence is definitely important, but it starts with believing in who you are, in you right of passage to be on stage presenting and in the content you deliver.
Being confident means knowing your boundaries. No pretending. If you are scared as hell, then be sure to prepare, even if you know others won’t be doing the same.
Your mission, if you choose to accept it: Know your boundaries, so you can be confident on stage and in life. If you are afraid of being in front of the room, relentlessly prepare. Do what it takes to feel like you can own the crowd.
Be kind. Be safe. Be appropriate. Now go!
