The other day a school teacher asked me “why are you so nice?” after we talked about taking his kids after school.
I laughed. And then I had to think about that. What’s so nice about being neighborly? I grew up in a small town and maybe learned to appreciate community from Smalltown USA. I also grew up on re-runs of black and white shows like Andy Griffith show, where neighborly was the whole premise.
It’s sad that we don’t know what to do when neighborly comes at us.
