I wonder sometimes if a decision to quit a job or walk away from a career is due to the lack of perceived success in that role? Do people need to advocate for themselves better? Are there people who just can’t say what they want or at least are too afraid to admit what they don’t want?
I have maybe advocated to a fault – where I’m either pushing leaders beyond their own personal vision for themselves or for my role in their perfect worlds. Whatever the case, I’ve never settled for face value. I’m not literal. I see every idea or string of concepts as an opportunity to cling to. Of course, it has gotten me fired… but some of the greatest change-makers I know have been fired at least once!
Your mission to achieve Superhumanness: Advocate for you. Don’t assume that the role you are cast in is set in stone. It’s more of a guideline than a rule, and it’s meant to be creatively adapted!
Be kind along the journey and remember, you got this.
