50 Ways to Leave your Job

I was driving home from work when the song came on the radio “50 Ways to Leave your Lover”. It starts out:

The problem is all inside your head, she said to me. The answer is easy if you take it logically. I’d like to help you in your struggle to be free, there must be fifty ways to leave your lover. (insert – JOB)! And then the chorus really works.

[CHORUS:]
You Just slip out the back, Jack
Make a new plan, Stan
You don’t need to be coy, Roy
Just get yourself free
Hop on the bus, Gus
You don’t need to discuss much
Just drop off the key, Lee
And get yourself free

You can completely change a word or even the entire lyrics to a tune, and turn a really bad day into a GREAT day! I actually find that a song can transport me from being grumpy, and put a smile on my face! My other favorites are:

Landslide – Fleetwood Mac and Rain on My Parade – Barbara Streisand.

These theme songs become a mantra of sorts, and keep me on track. What about you, do you have a song or mantra to carry you through your day?  If not, you can read more about creating a mantra here.
