Authenticity

I was recently asked to take on a consulting assignment in which, had I accepted, I would not have felt authentic and about which I would have been anxious and stressed (and frankly, for which I was not entirely qualified).

Luckily, I am blessed with choice.  I don’t (from an economic point of view) have to take on every assignment I am offered.

After careful consideration, I chose not to take the assignment and offered it to someone else – someone excited about the job, someone passionate about the topic, someone more qualified than I am do the job.

In this instance, being authentic to myself resulted in wonderful outcomes.  I was happy and unstressed.  Another person became happily employed.  The client received the high quality supported needed to succeed.

It was a good reminder for me to do things from my soul, that success is more easily achieved when we do things about which we are passionate.
