I was listening to a program on Ted Radio Hour with Guy Raz about parasites. The author and speaker Ed Yong shares his research and theory on how much influence parasites truly have over other life forms, including potentially humans. Apparently 1 in 3 people have Toxoplasmosis in their brains, and this parasite can redirect rats to run toward cats, not away from their predators, in order to mate with other parasites in their ideal cat hosts. It’s a suicide mission for the rats, all directed from a single cell parasite.
So do we have as much free will as we thought, or are we being controlled by other factors? Do you have emotional drivers that seem irrational at times? Is there something more to it than meets the eye?
Your mission, if you choose to accept it: It’s okay to be human. Accept your fallibility, and relinquish your need for absolute control to the universe. You cannot possibly control everything in your life, and according to this research, it’s plausible that we can’t control everything! #EmotionalDrivers #ControlFreak #AreYouInControl
Be kind. Be safe. Be appropriate. Now go!
