Intuition. Today was the first time I heard that it was a problem for someone. A client said s/he was not analytical enough. It showed up in personality test scores, and it showed up in how they led.
So naturally I’m curious to know, why is it wrong to over use intuition over analysis? I suspect I know the answer for myself. My intuition helps me have a strong sense of direction, vision and confidence to lead the charge, but it doesn’t necessarily help me put the pieces together that create the infrastructure or logistics – logistics being logical. Although surprisingly, I have scored high in Myers/Briggs in analytical thinking, and I tend to default to logic when I have to (when no one else on my team is better at it – which is rare, by the way).
Still, I realize that even with my deficit in logic, as with my client, we’re both in a better position to have intuition fully developed. Intuition is harder to learn. But it comes in handy in moments of crisis!
