#RPCL Log Date February 17, 2017: #BeingHuman #GetOutThere

Recently I was asking an aging Millennial (which means 36 year old) how she felt about getting involved in a creative project for change. Her response:

“I may be an overly pragmatic creative, but I just don’t see how any art project can stand out in the noise. Maybe I should do something more, like tackle homelessness.”

And so how do we couch our beliefs in a way that rises above the noise?

As wonderful as social media has become in an age of transparency (even in the fake-news era), we get trapped in our LED screen bubble and fall prey to sadness or despair. Time to rely on your tribe of people to air out thoughts, vent, connect and find out why people feel how they feel.

Your mission, if you choose to accept it: GET OUT THERE FOR GOOD. Be a change agent by making a list and crossing off completed tasks large and small. Focus on one thing. Or start small with simple acts of kindness like buying a stranger coffee. Go medium by writing letters to leaders in office. Or reach wide, and cast a net across the aisle to talk about what your/their future looks like, and how you  want to help shape it together.

Be kind. Be safe. Be appropriate. Now go.
