While at the genius bar, I spoke to Ian who was restoring my iPhone and we discussed the apathy of millennials.
“It’s funny”, he said while staring off in the distance, “I am not sure why I have apathy. I have been working since I was 12 and I like my work. I just don’t care about the same things others care about”.
This Spokane native came from a fairly conservative family and lives in bluesville. I sensed that he no longer identified with his parents values but I didn’t ask how he voted.
Your mission, if you choose to accept it: Find someone younger than you and ask them how much they care about their work, career, politics, global landscape. Are they apathetic? Do they see this as a phase?
