Encouragement is all it takes to get a toddler to take its first step. We are no different as adults.
Stepping into a mosh pit is usually done with the support of friends.
Stepping into a new role that stretches us can be greatly improved with constructive and encouraging feedback, giving us a hope of success. Thanks to someone who cared enough to help us, we can now level up in our lives.
There are a lot of ways to provide encouragement to someone, or thank someone for believing in us. Spreading good will, saying thank you, helping someone succeed, can all touch us in a positive way.
Your mission, if you choose to accept it: Push yourself to take that extra step. Say thank you to a past mentor in your life. Encourage a co-worker, employee, friend or neighbor. Mentor someone to push beyond what they can see for themselves. Provide or request positive (and constructive) feedback.
Be kind. Be safe. Be appropriate. Now go!
