Have you heard of the term barn raising? It was popular in the 18th and 19th century in rural North America – that’s according to Wiki. This term is about community in all its glory, where people come together to build a barn for families, neighbors, or friends in need. It became a metaphor for communities co-existing by helping one another, similar to a commune I reckon. I also liken it to tribe, but not an exclusive tribe. It’s one tribe for humanity.
Your mission, if you choose to accept it: reach out to a neighbor, or someone whom you identify as a part of your community, and offer to help out. Are you bringing a freshly baked loaf of bread by? Offering to help shovel snow? Or maybe noticing their porch light is burned out and replacing the bulb?
Pay it forward, whatever you choose.
Be kind. Be secret. Be safe!
Over and out.
