What is the root source of your emotions about the election? What is making you feel strongly about it?
In business, I used to say “it’s not personal, it’s business.” Then, I started working with leaders, and realized it’s not only very personal, but it’s dangerous when those acting on behalf of self-interest are not even self-aware or empathetic to others.
Now I say this to every leader: it is personal. So how do you make it about more than oneself?
Emotionality can serve us well. It can be another barometer of good versus bad, and gut check for what’s right. Intuition plays a big role in emotionality. Sometimes we can take it too far and let emotion drive out logic. So we need to strike that balance.
Your mission, if you choose to accept it: is to work on your #covertleadershipintuition.
Think about a time when you didn’t listen to your gut intuition, and you wish you had. What did it feel like when you knew you were right, but didn’t have the courage to follow through? Now think of a time when you listened to your gut and it payed off. What were the feelings of having that “other” sense? Post responses with #RPCL #beinghuman #reunificationproject #covertleadership.
Be kind. Be secret. Be safe. Be appropriate. Now go!
Over, and out.
