Clean Slate

Sometimes I have my best thinking in the shower. I’ve sung my best high notes, had some earth-shattering ideas and epiphanies and felt all around the most relaxed in a shower – all while getting cleansed and ready to start afresh.

During my cathartic cleanse this evening, I stared at the new shower tile. Well, it’s a year old actually, but it’s still like beginning with a clean slate. After a shower I use the squeegee to take out extra water and then I occasionally take a scrub brush to the areas turning pink from minerals or threatening to grow nasty mold. Much easier to keep up when I stay ahead of the dirt, as I’ve discovered in my new-found role at home.

When it’s a clean slate, it’s easier to be open to new ideas while letting go of old patterns. This is what my life feels like. No more moldy jobs.

I’m looking for a fresh start.
