This story is so absurd, it had to be French (influenced by the likes of Albert Camus). And yet… as surreal as it is, and rather shocking, it’s sort of the reverse truth of what it feels like to be objectified as a woman. In her case, the writer chose to cast the house-man as the victim, and all of the women are influencers, or in positions of power.
