Some days I’m down on capitalism. But in truth, I’m for it. I know that capitalism is not failing society. People are. And frankly the ones calling the shots are putting self interest in front of societal interest.
At a fundamental level, humans fail humans. And then I imagine, what would that look like when we complicate societies with artificial intelligence? Will human’s consistent failure turn into our demise? When I heard about Syria the other morning, I just felt so angry. What makes me crazy is that we cannot get a handle on putting civil society before ideology, whether it’s autocratic, democratic, plutocratic, aristocratic, meritocratic or theocratic.
Your mission to achieve Superhumanness: Protect a future of humans by understanding the best and worst possibilities. Make every move count toward a more educated and civil society. For the sake of our children and the future of humans.
