When Success Comes Without Trying

I had the opportunity to hear a testimonial from two very distinct power women recently, and they were surprisingly quite similar.

Connie told a group of us that she attributes her success to the fact that it was not her drive, it just “happened”. Remember that workshop about “detachment” I want to plan?

And then today Pamela explained to me that it was at the very moment in her career when she didn’t care about success, that she was the most sought after and financially successful.

Why? For Connie, she attributes it to seizing the moment. She believes she is really good at living in the moment and probably not as strong at planning for the future. For Pamela, it was easier to acquiesce to clients wishes when she cared about the money but she never felt good about it. And now that the financial ties are gone, she’s free to be bold and give her clients the very best advice

Self talk: Don’t try so hard in your job. And don’t make it about money, whatever you do.
