When your Doctor Tells You, You Need to Drink More

I have to admit, I’m tired. No, exhausted is more like it. I was reading a client description of the age range for a new winery / spa + resort and her demography ranged from 20-somethings to nearly dead. I feel closer to the dead side of things.

So, I decided to schedule an appointment to see our family doctor. I really like Ralph. He’s honest to the point of being painfully blunt. Sometimes he’s a little too much by the book and argues against my need for alternative care, but we both compromise when appropriate. Once when he prescribed an anti-inflammatory instead of a referral to a Physical Therapist, I argued until I got my way. It all works out.

However, today was the best advice an Allopathic doc ever gave out. Okay, so he was probably joking. But I knew exactly what he was going to say. “Get your toddler to sleep through the night so you can. Exercise more than twice a week”. But what I didn’t expect was “Oh, and yes, you need to drink more alcohol”.

YES!  I just got permission to find a way to quiet the left brain. So, tonight I indulged in a glass of Pinot Noir. It was a productive evening. I took my doctor’s advice, which was really “client research” for the new winery project.

Ever have your doc or a field expert give you zany advice?
