My friend and I were sitting outside late one evening while reminiscing about Suzy. She said her pledge to herself is to become more mindful. She has realized through the 40’s decade of her life that she just doesn’t want to keep up the work pace of her 30’s. As she reflected on why, she said that maybe it was because she is at an age where she has lost too many loved ones. And maybe she needs to stop spending so much time thinking about the people that matter in her life, and spend more time reaching out.
She asked me what I thought about how to get to mindful.
Your mission, if you choose to accept it: Get to mindful by embracing your imperfectly perfect self. Think of it as a personal love affair minus ego centric narcissism. We need to know how to love ourselves just enough, so we can stop worrying about judgment. And so we can get out of our own way along our journey of helping others achieve their greatness!
