The media has taken a licking from much of middle America and in part, very deserving.
And now? It’s clear that many news outlets are trying to rise above the desire to trade stories for a buck, by finding the hard truths in every political narrative thrown at us.
But it’s too much information. Too much to assimilate and too much to understand what is and isn’t important. Thus people who can’t possibly get it or understand it or who choose not to believe it anyway, default to Fox news.
Why? It’s predictable, one neighbor told me. I know what I’m going to get.
Fox News has been a trusted source for years, and it’s strategy is to emphasize the dramatic and shocking facts (or alt-facts) that appeal to millions of reptilian brains. Instead of news, it plays up a theatrical reality T.V. narrative and distorts truths.
In my humble opinion, Fox is not news. It’s entertainment that has resorted to dehumanizing people. And this is where millions of American’s are getting their news. Fox needs to join the crusade and come back to real journalism. I know you can do it!
