Imagine – a sort of funny idea for a group of college friends turns into a viral narrative because it’s funny to think of Ryan Gosling as a feminist. And she actually nailed it. I mean, he better show up at her doorstep and hug her, right? Very endearing. Although I have a friend who loves Ryan, I hardly cared who he was until now.
Why am I hopeful? Because she is on to something and I think she best captured it in the interview here.
In addition to sharing how the idea began and some political views, she is articulate and pointed when she says that many feminists are passive and not really out there connecting their actions to their words.
…And there is a distinct amount of people who agree with and trumpet feminist ideals, but aren’t actually doing anything in their community
Amen to that. I know how it feels to sit on the sidelines. No longer.
