Over 40 and reinventing

When do we reinvent ourselves? I probably do every decade. And so I’m on my 4th decade of reinvention.

In my industry, you probably only remain relevant until the age of 55. So I figure I’ve got a good decade to a decade and a half of this line of work, which is why I probably need to continue to plan my exit strategy sooner.

In truth, I am beginning to really own the fact that I don’t like working in unstructured environments anymore (call it corporate or just chaotic), when I’m not calling the shots.

And I’m probably too much of a non-conformist. I question everything, and as I write this, I wonder about age relevance in so many careers. And it just makes me angry when looking at my finances to plan for the unattainable goal of working to 70.

How will we pull it off, I wonder?
